About

Osteo Jura was created to help North Londoners with their physical wellbeing and give them access to the best osteopathic care. Set in Crouch End, Osteo Jura is the place to start your wellbeing journey. During your initial consultation, you’ll be given the space to discuss your health concerns and find answers to the questions around your physical health. Following a thorough assessment of your body’s function, you will be given an actionable plan to kickstart your recovery.

Osteopathy is a therapy that detects, treats and prevents physical injuries through a holistic approach. It looks at your health in its entirety, connecting different elements about your health to understand the cause of your injury. Understanding the mechanism of injury will help create an effective management plan that will get you back to normal, pain-free living. A variety of treatment modalities are used to support the person’s recovery, including soft tissue work, rehabilitation exercises and advice on lifestyle changes. Every treatment is unique to you and your recovery, and it aims to give you a greater understanding of your body.

Patients often seek osteopathic treatment for lower back pain or neck pain, but Osteopaths are qualified to help with a variety of conditions such as those listed below:

  • Ligament sprains
  • Muscle tear
  • Rotator cuff injuries
  • Frozen shoulder
  • Tennis and Golfer’s elbow
  • Anterior knee pain
  • Tendinopathies
  • Headaches
  • Temporomandibular joint dysfunction
  • Pelvic girdle pain
  • Diastasis
  • Lower back pain
  • Chronic pain

The Founder

Iona is a Franco-Scottish Osteopath who qualified from the University College of Osteopathy with honours. In her last year of university, she was awarded the Sven Svenson award for her extensive knowledge and passion for Osteopathy.

Before moving to London for her studies, Iona lived on the French Riviera where she trained as a dance teacher for the Margaret Morris Movement method. Her background in dance inspired her to become a healthcare professional as she experienced first hand the impact of Osteopathy on her physical performance.

Since graduating, Iona has had different opportunities to work alongside skilled healthcare professionals, including physiotherapists, consultants etc. Through her clinical work, she started adopting a multi-faceted approach to optimize the recovery of her patients. She uses soft tissue techniques, manipulations, kinesio taping, breathwork, Pilates, dance, and rehabilitation exercises to form holistic treatment plans. Her warm, friendly and supportive approach gives patients the space they need to recover effectively.

Iona is a keen learner, so she pursued specialized training with the Mummy MOT to help pregnant women through their pregnancy and to guide their recovery following birth. Iona has helped many women with pelvic girdle pain, diastasis recti, pelvic floor dysfunctions, and urinary incontinence
